Readings are estimates

The meter uses the microphone built into your phone, tablet or computer. These microphones are designed for speech and are not calibrated for absolute sound pressure measurement. Sensitivity varies between devices, operating systems and browsers, and the operating system may apply its own gain or filtering that we cannot control. Readings can differ from a professional sound level meter by several decibels or more.

Not for safety, legal or medical decisions

Do not use the Service to assess workplace noise exposure, to establish compliance with any regulation or standard, as evidence in a complaint or legal proceeding, or to make decisions about hearing protection or health.
